When I embroidered that piece back in June, it was far from straightforward, spent a week trying to rework the original algorithm to create a stitchable version that would produce varying thread width, without breaking the look of the original drawing. The needle goes back and forth to achieve that, in practice it does either 1 or 3 passes. It's done in a single run, truly just one long, single thread, that kept going for hours. Underneath the fabric, I had to replace the bobin 6 times ! And I stretched it with hundreds of tiny nails planted with my bare fingers. Not to brag, all worth it, I loved the result. Happy it's traveling.... link December 2, 2025
