Broken Things, Still Working, Hardly Functional

Third in the “Gateway” series, this piece continues to be part of a search for contemporaneity, using abstract symbolism to document a journey into digital art on the blockchain.
This piece reflects the different temporalities that intertwine, that of NFT art, which is both exhausting with its crazy pace, and considerably young as a current of history; the temporality of humans, too, who must deal with their own organic or psychological constraints. The transcendent concept of immutability must be understood with awareness of our own mortality. In their desire to be part of, or even survive in, this collective movement, each actor clings to a positive attitude while they strive to understand its meaning. However, there is no positivity without an understanding of the forces that work to drag it down.
A flower is an interesting symbol for knowing how to balance these antagonistic directions. Its quest for heights and beauty can only be accomplished through opposite growth, towards the earthly depths, anchoring into them, while accepting its mortality. Despite its fragility and ephemeral nature, it accomplished this powerful and universal symbolism of growth, vitality, beauty and hope.
Once again, nature comes to help in resolving the great existential question. This work displays a resolute positivity, but if we dig, we will find the dark soil of the individual condition, as the artist uses the graphic medium to expel interior suffering, materialize it in order to accept it, and eventually, to transcend it.
